What is Tire Load Rating?

The tire load rating of a tire is the 2- or 3-digit number shown on the sidewall, which indicates the loading capacity of the tire.

For example, the highlighted number on the image above is “91”. It means that this tire can be loaded to a maximum of 615 kilograms. Since there are 4 tires on a vehicle, the maximum total kilograms for that vehicle, with those tires, is 2,460 kilograms. You can find the load rating on the sidewall of your tire, as shown in the image above.
