A Wrangler DuraTrac made of Kevlar?

When I hear talk of Kevlar, the famous ultra-strong aramid fiber developed by DuPont, many things come to mind: boat hulls, bulletproof vests and even the roof of Montreal's Olympic Stadium. However, I have to admit that I didn't know that the material had also long been used in the manufacture of specialty tires, not least because of its very high tensile strength.

This somewhat astonishing fact was brought to my attention as I was reading about the brand-new Wrangler DuraTrac RT, a new Goodyear model that makes use of Kevlar's physical properties by integrating it into its structure. The range is already renowned for its ruggedness, but this new tire promises to raise the bar even higher in terms of strength and longevity!

Why Kevlar?

As you can probably already tell, the DuraTrac RT is not designed specifically for everyday use. While it will undoubtedly offer excellent handling on all types of pavement, it is first and foremost built to meet the needs of workers and off-road enthusiasts. The addition of aramid fibers to the tread protects the tire against punctures and cuts, all too common in off-road conditions.

Goodyear's latest tire comes in 42 different sizes, all designed to accommodate SUVs and light trucks. It even carries the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake label, a symbol of quality even on icy, snow-covered surfaces. In fact, its biting edges and unique tread pattern offer even more grip and control. It's enough to make you want to put its three-ply sidewall to the test with Durawall compound...

And other Wrangler DuraTrac models...

Even if you don't need all the toughness of Kevlar, the DuraTrac range is still interesting. After all, the RT model is just one of the many tires available on Blackcircles.ca. The Wrangler DuraTrac, one of the most popular, offers a balanced experience of comfort and efficiency, whatever the weather conditions. Its cousin, the DuraTrac LT, offers even more advantages, such as winter homologation and outstanding grip.

Of course, all these models may seem a little too robust for some people whose car use is limited to the journey between home and work. While it's true that you probably don't need Kevlar to stay safe in these situations, don't let winter surprise you! Even the shortest journeys can seem interminable when you don't have the right tires... Any model in the Ultra Grip range will make the difference!
