Have you ever read the description of one of our tires, or even one of our blogs, and wondered "what the heck is an asymmetrical tread pattern"? You're not alone! I admit I've had to use Google Images more than once to make sure I had the right thing in mind before telling you about it. No problem! Thanks to a new pilot project in partnership with BFGoodrich, it's now possible to get a full 3D view of some of our products directly from Blackcircles.ca.

To access it, nothing could be simpler. On the page of a compatible product, such as the Trail Terrain T/A, two new buttons appear: "See in 3D" and "See on your vehicle". Whichever you choose, you'll have access to a high-quality 3D model of the tire, enabling you to inspect it in minute detail. With augmented reality technology, you can even see in real time how your vehicle will look with new tires. Practical, isn't it?

Augmented reality integration

AR technology is becoming increasingly common nowadays, not the least because it allows 360-degree, in-context viewing of any 3D model, regardless of the environment. This is what makes it immensely popular in convention or showroom situations, as it reduces inventory required on the floor. With online sales, one of the biggest problems is the inability to see what you're buying before you receive it. The aim of integrating augmented reality is therefore to give customers the confidence to actually see what they're about to pay for.

Of course, you'll understand that there's nothing like trying out tires for real, but even in a conventional showroom, that's rarely possible. The opinions of Blackcircles.ca's experts and those of customers who have purchased the tires often offer a good idea of the model's quality. Thanks to the new augmented reality feature, you'll now be able to form an even more informed opinion after thoroughly inspecting your new tire!

For now, this is just an experiment limited to certain products on our site, but it's just one example of how technology can revolutionize the way we buy tires. If you're like me, it's often that connection with what I'm buying that I miss when I shop online. So, especially for the internet market, this is an idea that promises to bring the customer closer to the product than ever before!
