Is it really the holiday season already? It seems like only a few weeks ago we were rushing to get our winter tires on, and now we're already thinking about gifts for our loved ones… If you're like me, coming up with ideas for those who already have everything can be a pretty daunting task. Also, if you're like me, you've got car-loving loved ones who'd enjoy something original for once! That's why I've decided to help you out by sharing the fruit of my internet research this festive season: four gift ideas especially for car enthusiasts.
Branded clothing
Here, I'm not talking about prestigious fashion names like Gucci or Louis Vuitton, but rather prestigious automotive names like Pirelli or Mustang! Clothing is a fairly standard gift for the holiday season, but a t-shirt or coat featuring your loved one's favorite car (or tire) brand can make the whole thing a little more original. Many manufacturers have an official range of clothing and accessories, and a simple web search reveals a virtually infinite variety of derivative products.
Car cleaning accessories
Of course, car accessories will always be appreciated by your motoring friends. It's hard to go wrong in this category. However, we often forget about cleaning accessories, which are just as important, if not more so, than comfort and pleasure accessories. There are a huge number of detergents, soaps and tools available to make cleaning your car easier, but it's the portable accessories that will undoubtedly be the most useful. A small vacuum cleaner, for example, could save them a lot of hassle.
A unique experience
For a truly unforgettable gift, why not turn to something unique like a day in an exotic car or on a racetrack? Many tracks across Canada offer this kind of event. A specialized driving school, for example for performance driving, drifting or winter driving, can also be an enriching experience. Finally, if you prefer to watch the cars, a ticket to the Canadian Grand Prix is sure to please!
Their dream model car
We all know someone who loves their car. To help our favorite mechanophile appreciate his or her vehicle at all times, why not give them a scale model to put in their living room or their office? There are many different types, from do-it-yourself to collectible. My personal favorites? Lego models inspired by classic vehicles, like this magnificent Land Rover Defender.
