Hankook wins three iF Design Awards!

3 minute read

Every year since 1954, the iF International Forum Design awards products whose design stands out the most for its originality and quality. One would think that tire design would be rather difficult to reinvent, but Hankook proved us wrong with its three titles received at the 2022 edition of the event. Because of their use of geometry and technology to improve performance, the Dynapro XT and AT2 Xtreme and the Winter i*cept RS3 showed the world the ingenuity of the Korean manufacturer. After all, it’s not just Pirelli and Michelin on the market!

The robust Dynapro XT

Designed specifically for performance on all types of pavement, the Dynapro XT is capable of handling almost anything. Once installed on your SUV or light truck, you’ll finally be able to drive where you want to, on the road… or even off it. Even though it’s an all-season tire, it’s rated 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake, which means it performs like a winter tire on snow and ice. But what won it the iF Design Award was its aggressive sidewall design that offers both style and puncture protection.

Dynapro AT2 Xtreme, truly extreme!

The Dynapro range is definitely full of trendy and safe choices! The AT2 Xtreme, even more robust than the XT, promises an optimal experience in all conditions. With its multidirectional sipes, the model is particularly effective on wet pavement or, again, off-road. You don’t have to leave the pavement to enjoy its qualities, though! Quiet and comfortable, it’s just as enjoyable on the highway as it is in the woods, and it’s also rated as a 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake. I’m a big fan of off-roading and I can’t wait to try it for myself!

In winter, the Winter i*cept RS3

Sometimes, when it’s cold, we need more than four-season tires! In Quebec, it’s even illegal to keep them on all year round. Luckily, the 75 experts of the iF Design Award also pointed out an interesting choice in winter, the Winter i*cept RS3. By increasing its contact area with cleverly placed slots, Hankook has managed to improve its grip in curves. For better braking, we can also note the inverted V-shaped pattern of its tread and the use of a high-grip silica in its rubber composition. Unfortunately, they are not yet available on Blackcircles.ca, but you can easily find other models in the line.

Trust the jury, whatever the season and whatever your needs, Hankook has a model that will certainly do the trick!
