In four winter tires: GT Radial

That's right! It's that time of the month again, when we turn our attention to a lesser-known tire manufacturer, or at least not as well known as the Michelin and Pirelli of the world! With the cold having set in for good, this time I decided to take a closer look at the winter models from one such manufacturer: GT Radial.

A division of Singapore's Giti Tire, the brand arrived in North America just over twenty years ago. Since 2013, the company has also operated a research and development center specifically for tires destined for our market. Is this why their winter tires are so effective? In any case, they're appreciated for their efficient performance and low price, as these three suggestions demonstrate.

The all-rounder: GT Radial Winterpro 2

The GT Radial Winterpro 2 is the brand's model I'd recommend for most uses. Equally at home on a sedan or SUV, it offers a safe and comfortable driving experience. Another advantage is its extremely competitive price. It's hard to get better value for money! Don't let the affordability fool you: its quality materials guarantee longevity similar to that of most other leading brands.

Even more: GT Radial IcePro SUV3

Designed specifically for SUVs and light trucks, GT Radial's IcePro SUV3 is the big brother of the Winterpro model. Capable of overcoming the worst weather conditions, it's also available in a variety of sizes more suited to SUVs. Its various exclusive technologies, such as its silica-rich tread compound, give it even greater grip while maintaining low rolling resistance.

For heavy-duty work: GT Radial IcePro 3

The only studdable model on our list, the GT Radial IcePro 3 is perfect for those who aren't afraid to face winter head-on. Like all tires of this type, it has its share of advantages, but also its share of disadvantages when fitted with studs. While it's true that studs can be damaging on dry roads, in indoor parking lots for example, they can also be indispensable on icy, snow-covered roads! Use them wisely and they won't let you down.

Asymmetrical: GT Radial Champiro Winterpro HP

If you're more of a fan of asymmetrical tires, whether for their more dynamic behavior or their pleasant roadholding, the Champiro Winterpro HP may be the tire for you. Focused on performance, this model also retains all the handling that makes it safe for winter use.
