As November comes to an end, I hope the message is clear: if you haven’t already, it’s time to get winter tires! And I’m not just saying that because I’m writing a blog on a website that sells tires… Especially when you drive a lot or live in a remote area, getting efficient winter tires is a must for safe driving. In Quebec, it will even be mandatory in just a few days.
Don’t worry if you don’t have yours yet, though! In my selflessness, I thought it would be nice to help you out with some product ideas available only a few clicks away from this page… This time, my recommendations turn to one of the most popular crossover SUVs on the market: here are my suggestions for winter tires for the Honda CR-V without further ado!
Classic Continental Viking Contact 7
Is there a single vehicle for which the Viking Contact 7s don’t fit? I may be exaggerating a bit, but it’s true that the Continental model is one of the most versatile thanks to its wide range of sizes and affordable price. It’s a safe choice, capable of offering adequate performance on all road surfaces while maintaining optimal traction. In this price range, it’s hard to beat!
For the budget, Trackmax Ice-Plus S210
I understand that even the Continental tires are not suitable for every wallet. Luckily, you don’t have to break your piggy bank to be protected! Cheaper models like the Tracmax Ice-Plus S210 may not offer all the advantages of their high-end cousins, that’s for sure. However, they are far more effective in winter conditions than all-season tires or, worse, summer tires.
Ready for anything: the Pirelli Ice Zero Asimmetrico
It”s true that the CR-V is rarely associated with the track, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t still get the most out of its motor! A true race tire like the Pirelli Ice Zero Asimmetrico may seem a little strange on an SUV, but its advantages are just as great in the race as on the highway. It’s especially in the area of braking that it stands out, even surpassing its cousin the Ice Zero FR.
Michelin X-Ice: studded or not?
Finally, the Michelin X-Ice North 4 Studded is my recommendation for those who really care about winter and who plan to drive on ice and snow frequently. These are the only circumstances in which I suggest studded tires, but when you really need them, you can’t live without them! If you live in the city, but still want to enjoy the benefits of the X-Ice line, the Snow version will probably be better!
