Yokohama has launched the new Geolandar X-AT, a tire that the company specifically designed for the world’s pickup trucks and SUVs. It’s more imposing and more versatile than any other Yokohama tire before him.
“The GEOLANDAR X-AT meets all your needs,” said Bob Abram, senior director of product planning at Yokohama in a statement. “It delivers optimal off-road performance without sacrificing on-road comfort, which is an excellent performance improvement for a variety of pickup trucks and SUVs, regardless of driving style or driving environment.”
For now, the Geolandar X-AT is available in 27 sizes, ranging from 15 to 22 inches but the company plans to increase this offer, including adding F load tires for heavier vehicles.
Practical, it’s true, but also aesthetically pleasing, Yokohama’s new Geolandar X-AT allows buyers to choose the look of their tire with a double flank design.
Its very design makes it able to overcome the most imposing obstacles. For example, he has installed dynamic shoulder blocks of various lengths, which promotes the release of mud and pebbles in all circumstances, thus preserving the ability to grip.
Yokohama’s Geo-Shield technology also allows for greater off-road durability due to the presence of many side layers. The sole compound itself is reworked. Called HD2, made from a special blend of three polymers, the compound has been developed to offer a long life to the tread, as well as better resistance to cuts and chips.
“With the GEOLANDAR X-AT, Yokohama now has one of the most comprehensive light truck tire alignments on the market,” said Abram.
The new Yokohama Geolandar X-AT will be available from July 1st.
