Literally, your tires are able to talk to you. At least, to signal their presence, and to help you achieve better results. At least that’s what the Pirelli tire manufacturer is trying to do with its Track Adrenaline tracking system, which was presented at the recent Geneva Motor Show.
Are you thinking of yourself as the next Formula One champion? Or are you simply curious about your performance and want to improve it? Track Adrenaline is for you.
The sophisticated system is easy to use and is aimed at professionals and amateurs, even to gentlemen-pilots who have great expectations. Track Adrenaline is pretty straight forward: these are sensors housed in the tire, connected by Wi–fi to an electronic box plugged into the car and an application for your smartphone.
Once installed, with the P Zero Trofeo R tires as it should, your tires will literally become your driving instructors. Thus, they will be able, without much difficulty, to determine if the temperature of the rubber is good, indicating at the same time whether you have to perform an extra heating lap or not.
In fact, by judging the temperature, they will be able to assess their grip, and accurately determine the exact moment to start on a fast lap. The box communicates with the application via Wi-Fi and provides a sophisticated lap timer, with telemetry information and real-time analysis of each session on the track.
Intermediate, maximum and average speeds, accelerations, braking, theoretical ideal laps and comparisons with previous sessions are among the displays that the application offers the driver.
And to be sure everything is in order, the tires also have a GPS sensor that will display the car’s trajectory, paired with precise timing.
For now, the Pirelli Track Adrenaline is just a project, and you’ll have to wait in July for the official launch. But admit that having tires designed for performance and that guide you in addition, it is what you need if you want to launch the assault of the tracks.
