When it comes to racing soles, no one better than Pirelli and Puma have expressed it, creating real shoes inspired by the most successful sports cars, Formula One cars.
Called “Replicat-X”, this new shoe is designed to give the rider the same feeling of contact with the track as that felt by a sports car driver while he is behind the wheel.
Featuring an oversized rubber outsole, the Replicat-X is equipped with a comfy slipper. To provide better grip and better control of power underfoot, the shoe contains the unique tread of Pirelli’s CINTURATO Blue tire on the sole, which is used to provide maximum traction on wet races.
For the athletes
Obviously, Pirelli has relied on Puma and its expertise to create shoes really able to meet the requirements of athletes. Thus, the upper part of the running shoe is made of micro-fiber and mesh side panels, ensuring greater breathing.
Both companies are also related in the world of the automotive series. Pirelli, a major player in the tire industry for 147 years, is the FIA World Formula One World Championship partner and competes in more than 350 motor sport events a year, for both two- and four-wheeled vehicles.
