If you follow automotive news at all, it's impossible not to be familiar with the Cybertruck, Tesla's latest model, which has been making waves for all sorts of reasons. In addition to its price, Elon Musk's personal habits and the delays in its release, it's above all the electric truck's looks that have been the talk of the town. Angular, aggressive and certainly unique, it's the kind of thing you either love or hate! Personally, I have a hard time appreciating the Cybertruck's curves (or lack of them), but luckily that's not what we're interested in here at Blackcircles.ca.
A heavyweight
Yes, even the wheels and tires of the new Tesla truck have been the subject of much gossip and more serious reporting. Ever since the Cybertruck prototypes were first spotted rolling through the streets of Austin, Texas, it's been their size that's been surprising. Indeed, you may be interested to learn that it requires LT285/65/R20 tires. In other words, its tires are around 35 inches (89 centimetres) in diameter. The wheels themselves are 20 inches in diameter, or 51 centimetres. That's as big as the wheels on a GMC Sierra or a Ford F-250!
Small disappointment for technophiles, however. The automatic tire inflation system patented by Tesla in 2022 is not present on this first version of the Cybetruck. The company has never confirmed its presence, but many Tesla fans were hoping that this impressive technology would make its debut on the new model. We'll probably have to wait a while before we can try it out for the first time!
Tires for my Cybertruck?
As standard, the Tesla truck comes with exclusive tires that will certainly be difficult, if not impossible, to replace with the company. Luckily, Cybertruck owners will still be able to turn to conventional tires, although the size of the wheels may limit the options. The choice is even more limited if you decide to go for LT models only.
Fortunately, Blackcircles.ca has a very simple search tool that makes it quick and easy to find models that match the Cybertruck criteria. It's hard to go wrong! All the tires listed have distinct advantages, and your choice will depend on your driving style. Nevertheless, I can recommend a few sure-fire values, such as the Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 or the BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO2. A little too expensive? A model like the Falken Wildpeak A/T4W will do the trick.
