Toyo Proxes Sport A/S+: tire of all trades

William Bouchard William Bouchard
2 minute read

If you're like me, you want a tire that does it all: sticks to the road like a suction cup, holds up in the rain without turning your car into an ice skate, and doesn't wear out after three dynamic turns. While there are many such tires on the market, you often have to budget more to get the most out of them... Well, Toyo seems to have heard our prayers with its brand-new Proxes Sport A/S+, an ultra-high-performance all-season tire that promises to be just as at home on dry pavement as in a thunderstorm.

A new generation of Proxes Sport

This model is the direct evolution of the Proxes Sport A/S and has been improved in every respect. Thanks to a new rubber compound, wet grip is even better. As for robustness, the brand has worked to ensure slower wear and reduced rolling resistance. In short, this means more kilometers without having to change tires, and potential savings in fuel (or electricity, if you drive an EV).

Toyo has also optimized the tread design, with an asymmetrical profile designed to improve stability and braking. The internal structure has also been updated, with a rigid sidewall, ultra-strong steel belts and a design that distributes ground pressure evenly. The result is a more precise ride and an improved sense of dynamism on the road. What's more, rolling noise has been reduced thanks to specially designed grooves to minimize irregular wear and provide a quieter ride.

Available now!

The Proxes Sport A/S+ are available now, in March 2025, and Toyo is thinking big with availability in over 75 sizes, covering diameters from 17 to 22 inches. A High Load (HL) version is also available, specifically designed for SUVs, hybrids and electric vehicles. So whether you're behind the wheel of virtually any vehicle, there's a size to suit your model. For even greater peace of mind, Toyo backs this model with an 80,000 km wear guarantee

With its new model, Toyo seems to offer an ideal solution for those looking for a well-balanced tire that is both high-performance and durable, while retaining its quiet side. Whether it lives up to its promise on the road remains to be seen, but on paper, it has everything to please. So, are you ready to put it to the test?
