Some time ago, the famous Japanese car manufacturer Subaru announced an even “wilder” version of its Outback model: the Wilderness Edition. Designed to be dragged across all kinds of terrain and on all kinds of adventures, it needs tires that can keep up!
In mid-May, it was finally revealed which tires would have the honor of driving the new Subaru. Through a partnership with Yokohama, another Japanese company, Subaru will be able to equip its Wilderness Edition with Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 tires. Designed specifically for off-road thrills, they fit perfectly into the philosophy of the Geolandar line, already known for their durability and robustness.
Perfect for all-wheel drives and SUVs
It’s easy to see why Subaru chose to equip its extreme activity model with Geolandar tires. The models in this Yokohama lineup were designed to be able to withstand all kinds of punishment and still provide the necessary handling for a safe experience. In this respect, it is obvious that the philosophy of both companies is the same: performance and safety come first.
For the moment, it’s hard to evaluate their performance on the Outback since no other Subaru model is equipped with such Yokohama tires. This will further distinguish the Wilderness from other Subaru vehicles. The unique experience of this version of the Outback will be due in part to the technical improvements offered by the manufacturer, but let’s be serious, the tires will play an essential role.
