Finally, the tenth and last province of Canada welcomes us for the last leg of this Blackcircles.ca road-trip. This week, our discovery of the Canadian cultural and natural diversity continues in British Columbia, right down to the Pacific Ocean. In summer as in winter, the region is full of activities and… what can we say about these landscapes!

Experiencing Nature in Kamloops

Just a few hundred kilometers north of the metropolis that awaits you, the small town of Kamloops is the focal point of a corner of the country that is well worth discovering. Located in the heart of the Thompson Valley, it is within walking distance of many unforgettable outdoor activities. The BC Wildlife Park, for example, offers both an educational and entertaining experience. A sanctuary for orphaned and injured animals, you can see up to 200 animals of 65 different species.

Before leaving the valley, be sure to visit Paul Lake Provincial Park. If you go during the summer, you can camp or even go to the beach. In the colder months, it’s just as enjoyable to hike the trails. Just make sure you have high traction winter tires like the Continental Viking Contact 7.

Vancouver, a cultural haven

Ah, finally, the ocean! It’s been a while since we’ve seen it, hasn’t it? Why not enjoy it on the Seawall Drive? For 22 kilometers, you’ll have a breathtaking view of the water and the city. Then it’s time for a cultural break at the Museum of Anthropology to see artifacts from around the world. Have you taken the time to taste the local cuisine? Celebrate your return to the coast with a seafood feast at Sandbar Seafood Restaurant and watch the sun set on the famous Sunset Beach. It’s a day well spent.

The rest of the beach activities will have to wait, however, as the weather is not conducive to swimming! For now, though, it will be a while before you can take off your winter tires. We hope you have a model as comfortable and quiet as the Firestone Winterforce 2 Studdable!

Victoria, the English Capital

To visit the province’s capital, you’ll have to take a ferry from southern Vancouver Island, but trust me, it’s worth the trip! This is where you’ll get your fill of history as you stroll through a city with undeniable Victorian charm. To fully experience the style of the era, a visit to Craigdarroch Castle, a Scottish-style mansion, is a must. Museum lovers will also appreciate the Royal BC Museum, with its exhibits on both history and biology.

Finish your trip at Fisherman’s Wharf, a real floating village of colorfully painted buildings. It’s a great way to see the maritime side of the city, which, after all, has no connection to the mainland! Everyone knows that the island climate often plays havoc with the weather. Don’t take chances, go with a versatile tire like the Goodyear Assurance Weatherready! On wet or snowy roads, it keeps its grip.

That concludes our cross-Canada trip for most people, but adventure seekers should keep an eye out! The next article may surprise you!
